DON"T REALLY NO SO GOOGLE IT
opiates often lead to more depression. why do you want to treat depression w/something that can lead to more depression?
I'd be interested to know why you wanyt a doctor to treat your depression with opiates.
Depression is not normally treated with opiates, but rather with antidepressants, which are specifically formulated for that purpose, and are nto addictive ( although patients may experience discontinuation syndrome, and therefore need to be tapered off them if they discontinue them).
Opiates, on the other hand, are intended to treat moderate to severe pain. They have a high potential for addiction if they are used on a regular basis, and especially by someone who does not have a chronic pain problems. In addition, although they may produce tempory euphoria, they are actually central nervous system depressants, and in may people actually contribute to depression.
