Oh....I see this is an old post. I hope your wife found the help she needed.
My daughter is tapering off an AD (not paxil) so I've been reading alot the last few months. Paxil is known to be one of the hardest ssri's to get off of. I don't know but your wife may want to think about going back on, stabilizing and then doing a slow taper. Google paxil progress and see if they can offer you some guidance in addition to any help you get here.
One of the forums I've found that addresses the AD my daughter is on seems to recommend going back on at the last dose where you felt fairly normal, stabilizing for however long that takes and then reducing in very tiny amounts waiting to stabilize each time before reducing again. Depending on the person and their withdrawal symptoms this can take a year or more.
Best of luck to you both.
Try a natural liver cleanser from a health food store! Just might help a little!
Thank you NicoleHope, we will pray for your situation too. She initially had similar symptoms but now it is really bad and believe me she very tolerant to pain etc. She had 2 childern naturally and beat her first bout of depression years ago without any drugs. My wife is so affected at this point that she does not believe that she can get in a car to see a doctor who is going to check for everything and find out nothing useful. We have spoken with a number of physicians and nurses today (only some have called back) and we have received such comments as "it sounds like you're pregnant" to why don't you try an over the counter drug like Claritin. Just looking for someone who may understand this severe nausea from this drug and what may really help!
Thanks
She needs to go into see a dcotor. I am three weeks into withdrawing from Lexapro (which I only took for two weeks, my doctor told me it was fine to quit cold turkey. what a nightmare. ) and have developed tremors all over my body, including a very annoying head tremor. The initial signs of withdrawal for me where unusual moodiness and changes in tempor, followed by balance issues. Then the tremor started a week into withdrawal. I would consult with a doctor in case the withdrawal symptoms advance further.
