Big Belly chronic halitosis pass a lot of gas

I have a big stomach, and I think that all my problems stem from that fact. I have not really been to a doctor about the problem, but when I bring it up, they always give routine answers, or ask routine questions, like what kind of foods do I eat, maybe I am swallowing air in my sleep. none ot these things apply to me, I know I cannot swallow enough air to make my stomach this big constanly for all these years, besides, I clench my teeth at night. My breath is always bad, I mean always, if I do clean my mouth, tongue included, it only last for like an hour, if that much. so the problem cannot be in my mouth. I am 26 years old, dont drink, so there is no way I should have a belly this big, and breath this bad, and pass so much gas. anyway, I am going to the doctor this week, I was doing some research and came across this site, so I figured I would ask you guys. let me know.

I have similar symptoms like u. I also have severe halitosis and any amount of oral cleaniness hasn't helped me. I had a liver problem in my childhood (visible symptom was a bloated stomach). At present everythingis normal about except my breath. Please inform me if u have a breakthrough.

Check your colon regarding of age. See, I have twisted colon that could be congenital, due to toxins or who knows. I think there is not age for any condition. Once you get liver profile done and if results come ok, check your colon or all the digestive system. Nothing wrong doing that. Anybody here have any knowledge about twisted colon, please your comments are welcome.

Hi again, and thanks for all your comments.

My oral cleanliness is exceptional, and I dont think its gas because I have other symptoms like I am always feeling weak, I lack energy. I also think it has something to do with my liver, if not the liver, something in my abdomen. What I am curious about is finding out how does a bad liver directly cause a big belly?.

thanks again.

Sounds like liver to me too, especially the belly expanding, but 26 is very young. I see this with some of my patients. However, a GI specialist should be seen and tests, such as cat-scans, and ultra sounds should be done. Don't ever let "Anyone" brush you off if tests have not been ordered first!!

I had run across some research that said that people with a liver problem experience bad breath.  Can't remember exactly what it said now.  If your blood work comes back and they tell you that you have elevated liver enzymes then you should have an abdominal ultrasound next to find out if you have fatty infiltration of the liver.

I'm assuming you're a male, correct?
Have you been to the dentist for your bad breath problem?  You get regular cleanings, etc?  Have they ever mentioned bad gums or gingivitis to you?  It's hard to imagine that the bad breath and bloating are connected somehow, but usually the first place you go for that is a dentist.  After that is ruled out, a gastro doctor is probably in order though I'm not at all sure what they may find in someone as young as you.  Please keep us posted....
