Lower abdominal pain

I am wondering if anyone can help me.  I have been suffering from Lower Right Quadrent lower abdomial pain & nausia.  This started about 2 months ago with a very sharp, almost crippling, pain in my lower abdomin.  The pain was so bad that I couldn't bend over or bend my legs up.  I thought that I had appendicitis and went to the Emergency Room only to be told 3 hours later to go home, but it still might be appendicitis.

I have been to my doctor and to specialists and no one knows what is wrong with me.  I am beginning to think that they may never know what is wrong with me.  And it isn't like the pain goes away, it stays with me day in and day out.  THe pain is beginning to interfere with my working and with my life.   have been in cronic pain for the last 2 years due to a back injury and I have a high thresh-hold for pain but there are days I just want to cure up into a ball and stay in bed.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions or anything please let me know.

Thank You,
EVIE

Well, this sounds all to familiar to me. About three years ago, I was having that same sharp pain in my lower right abdomen. One morning, it was so bad that I could not get out of bed. My husband rushed me to the doctor, I was in so much pain, I could hardly breath. The doctor examined me, and sent me right over to the hospital, saying I had appendicitis and needed an emergency apendectomy!! I was horrified!! So, I went to the hospital, and was talking with the ER doc, while waiting for the nurse to come and prep me for surgery. When I told the doc that I previously had a flexible sygmoinoscopy (pardon spelling), he said that we should wait on the surgery so we can get a quick x ray of my belly. Well, at this point, im wondering what is wrong with these people??? So, i had the x ray, and the doc said to me, and this really is what he said...."you dont need surgery, you are full of ****" and i said, pardon me? He showed me the x rays, and i was completley backed up!!! I was litterally full of you know what!! So, he gave me some laxatives and sent me home. The next day, I was fine. My suggestion for you is to take some laxatives, and try to poop. Seriously. It really worked. Strange that appendicitis can be mistaken for being full of it, but they symptoms were the same, and not getting your bowels emptied could result in a blockage or a rupture.  And, just for the record, I still have my appendix!! Good luck and let me know if it works for you!!

Hi evie,

How are you doing? When i read your post, I completely understood how you are feeling! I also have been having pain in my lower right abdomen(right near my lower ribs) for a long time now. I think its been 5 months since i first went to see the doctor. I did so many tests but he still doesnt know whats wrong. So now i have yet to see a specialist. Im praying that she will find out whats wrong with me. Where i live though it can take up to 5 months to see a specialist. The pain, like you said, is always with me...but it has its climaxes when it hurts alot and i just sit there holding my side. What tests have you done with your specialist? and how long have you has this pain for? Where is your pain exactly? I hope that they will find out whats wrong with you. Who knows maybe we have the same thing...Its nice to know that some people are going through the same thing as me. If youd like heres my email-***@**** i hope to hear from you! take care! byebye

Dear Evie,

This is Paul Callagher. I have been going through that very same problem, with my stomach, and the specialists dismissing the case when it could be something very serious.

Mine started about 2 years ago at school, and it is a very sharp, dull, and nausiating feeling in both my left and right lower abdomin area.

I went to many specalists and they all thought of Appendicitis, and Colitis, but they never diagnosed me with anything, nor did they really care. I was then sent home one night from the emergency room, where I was in a great deal of pain, but they just diagnosed as a viral infection (which was a wrong diagnosis.)

I have been suffering with the pain for about 1 year now, and I don't bother to go to my doctor, because all of them just dismiss it.

I will be praying for you, and I will let you know if I am diagnosed with something, or if they prescribed a medication to me, that might be of help to you.

In Christ,

Paul Callagher
