Question about 'after an upper Endoscopy'

I had an upper Endoscopy done yesterday to help diagnose the symptoms I've having (bloating, mild nausea, occasional diarreah & cramping). The stomach lining proves to be in fine shape, but I didn't expect to feel so crummy after the test.  They did end up giving me a good dose of whatever they use to sedate one...I don't remember a thing:-).....all day yesterday I felt a little light headed. This morning after waking up, I felt well, had a small bowl of my usual cereal....but 10minutes later this terrible wave of nausea came over me...the kind where it doesn't help to lay down and you feel as if you might pass out.  Eventually the worse part of it went away.  I called the gastroenterologist's office and they said it's not that unusual to still feel a bit light headed and sick to your stomach on the second day.

Does anyone know this to be true fromt their own experience??

Thanks,

I also had the upper endoscopy done a week ago...your right about the drugs! I didn't remember a thing!

I had stomach cramps the following day and also had nausa, it did go away the following day.

Good luck....I am still having pain and I've been on the Previcad for almost 3 months. I have as they found a hiatal hernia which is causing a gap between my stomach and esophagus.

Hope you feel better.

SOME PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT REACTIONS TO THE MEDICATIONS THEY USE TO SEDATE YOU WITH. NORMALY I DON'T HAVE BAD REACTIONS BUT ON ONE OF MY SURGERIES I THOUGHT THE NAUSEA WOULD NEVER END. THEY NORMALLY DON'T WANT YOU TO HAVE ANY THING TO EATFOR AWHILE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CRACKERS FOR THE FIRST DAY HEAVY FOOD AT ALL . THAT NO DOUBT WAS THE REASON YOU BECAME ILL AND SOME TIMES A PATIENT JUST SIMPLY HAS A BAD REACTION TO THE MEDS .IF YOU HAVE TO BE PUT UNDER AGAIN I WOULD BE SURE TO LET THEM KNOW OF YOUR EXPIERENCE .SO MAYBE THEY WILL GIVE YOU SOME PHENEGRIN TO SETTLE YOUR STOMACH THE  NEXT TIME AROUND .BUT TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT UNFORTUNATELY IT DOES HAPPEN .
