Tightness in chest and throat for 3 years...

For 3 years I have suffered with a tightness that happens midchest (above sternum) and generates into my neck, especially where the two main arteries run on each side of the neck. I have been to 2 Cardiologists who find nothing that would cause this sensation other than "stress". These episodes started after fertility treatment injections.(2 months worth)Since then it comes and goes, completely went away during pregnancy only to return a few months post partum. It happens out of no where or can come on after eating.
I had an x-ray while drinking a liquid and nothing was out of the ordinary. I have no other side effects associated with stress (speeding heart rate, sweaty palms, etc..), so I can't imagine that my brain could actually trigger this response after 3 years. Could this problem be digestive in nature? Sign of reflux? Anything?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

PS Blood pressure is 120/70, don't smoke or drink, 5'9" tall and 37 years of age. About 15 lbs overweight.

Thanks so much for the info. I did look up these spasms and found individuals who had symptoms similar to mine, if not the same.
I have a Gastro doc. and I have never asked him about this nor told him of my issues since I was always thinking "heart" or "stress" issues. SO I plan to visit him and see what tests we can do.

It was great to find people out there going through what I am. At least it's not all in my head.

Thanks.

It could possibly be esophageal spasms....look it up on the web and check out the symptoms and see if they coincide....good luck
