Prolonged Stomach Problems

For over a month, I have had prolonged stomach problems.  My symptoms started with severe nausea, vomiting, headache, watery stools, unable to keep any food down, and extreme fatigue.  This was consistent for over 2 weeks.  I went to the doctor, he tested me for parasites and other things.  Then said I probally have a viral infection.  It should clear up and prescribed Cipro 500mg.  Well with the severe nausea I couldn't keep the medication down.  Along with that medication, I was on Prednisone 10mg, Protronix 40mg, Atenolol 25mg, naproxen 500mg, Planiquil 200mg and Quinacrine 100mg daily.  I stopped taking all medication except the prednisone and the protronix.  I started feeling a little better after that, but I have still been extremely fatigued, have little appitite and have been experiencing weight loss.  My primary doctor referred me to a gastro doctor, but said that I could have an ulcer.  I have been reading up on stomach cancer and I have a lot of those symptoms as well.  What test should my gastro doctor have me taking and how long should I just sit and wait.

Don't sit and wait at all. Ask your Gastroenterologist about a Panendoscopy. This will show any evidence of stomach cancer.

I agree wih Dr. Erik. An endoscopy is the best way to look for ulcers or stomach cancer.
