Help what is this!!

Hi, was wondering if anyone could plese help me i've been passing blood from my rectum for about 1 year now. But now its accompianied by terrible stomach pains daily (think this has a lot to do with wind) and a very fowl odour smelling mucus.
My stools are getting increasing fewer by the week and accompianied by this extreme wind. Most times I feel the need to go to the toilet but to no avail  I just pass gas and mucus.
I did go to the doctors but I backed out of been checked by her and said I would make a new appointment. Would rather try to sort it out by myself. Tried taking fybogel constant for 3 weeks but didnt ease up at all.
Has anyone else got this problem and if so please could you enlighten me.
Many Thanks
Mumsy

Mumsy, All the more reason to go see a doctor, just think of those 3 children and how they'd feel if something happened to you.  Go to a doctor, you have nothing to lose and everything if you don't.

Would still appreciate some suggestions on what it is and how to cure this please.

Hi. Please DO go and see a doctor. I have been checked in that area many times myself and I know that it is no fun but the relief I felt to find out that is was not cancer was worth the embarrassing tests. Find a good GI doc that you are comfortable with. They understand that it is not fun to be poked around in that area and are usually quite compassionate about it. My bleeding (after 3 years) has been tentatively diagnosed as endometriosis of the bowel. Best wishes to you and God bless.

Be sure to check for lactose intolerance.  That, or some other food allergy, could be all it is.

It makes no sense to "sort this out yourself".  See a doctor.  They can't help you if you don't let them.  I'd be more afraid to leave it alone than anything the doctor will do, they can find the problem and get you treatment.  Call today.
