What could be wrong?

I have had the following symptoms for the past 6 months: frequent diarrhea, abdominal pain, indigestion, rectal bleeding and bloating. I recently went to see a gastroenterologist and had a colonoscopy and was told that nothing is wrong. Beides inflammatory bowel disese and cancer, does anyone have any idea what my symptoms could be a sign of?

You might try to get checked for Celiac disease.  All it takes is a blood test.  You have some of the symptoms of it.  If left untreated it could cause cancer too.  It is actually a wheat allergy that damages your intestines which cause soem of the symptoms that you have.  It usually only occurs in infants and in older people but I am only 19 and I have it.  They let mine go for 3 years and told me that it was IBS but I finally read an article about Celiac disease and insisted that I be tested.  I read somewhere that it is the most common disease in the united states and the most misdiagnosed.  Well write back to let me knodw what you find out.  I hope this helps.

Hi - If the Gastro specialist was unable to help you out, you might want to see a colon/rectal specialist.  I agree you could be suffering from hemmroids or a fistula of some sort.  Best of luck to you.

What did they say about hemorrhoids or fissures which both can be caused by constant diarrhea.
