pain is worse at night?

It all started when I had an appointment to see the gynocologist. I told her I was very tender in my stomach area. She said I had an yesat infection...never had one, but I knew I didn't have any of the symtoms. I than couldn't sleep that night, I had a strong side and back pain. I knew sometime when you have a back pain like that it could be your kidney..I was tested positive having blood in my urine. They had me take the kidney stone test, neg...pain still went on. The test from my urine came back and they said I had a bladder infection. They put me on penisulian. Pain came back on the second day of medicine. I was taking it for ten days.

I went to new doctor. He thought gallbladder. I had severe attacks when I ate fatty foods. Pain is really strong and worse at night. Can 't sleep on either side. I was taking vicadin to ease pain. I took ultra sound, ct scan...no signs of stones, my doctor still thought gallbladder and even sent me to surgeon. Than we took the hida scan, they see a blockage in my bile ducts, than they sent me to the gastro doc. He said he didn't think it was gallbladder, all blood test came out normal.  He thought crohns...(I didnt' think so..at this time I have gained 20 pounds. in three months)..  He had me take a colonoscopy, and said i had spastic colon..all docs disagreed and went back to gallbladder, than the gastro doc came back , and gave me an upper GI, still thinking Crohns. Came out normal. Now I am having a ErCP..what if they dont' find anything..when will this pain stop, and what is it?

I have symptoms similar to yours.  I started with a severe bladder infection which eventually cleared up.  A year later I experienced severe abdominal pain which was ongoing for almost 2 years.  Finally i was diagnosed with polyps in my gallbladder and chronic cholycistitis.  I had it removed.  I still have severe pain late at night for several hours.  From my breastbone down it feels like everything is inflamed. I do not go for 1 minute without pain.  All tests show negative.  Doctors are stumped what to do.  Insurance company will not pay without proper diagnosis.  You are not alone.  Waiting for a miracle.

I have had several tests done on my gallbladder and upper GI tract which all showed inconclusive results (picture your doctor saying, "Everything seems normal - there's nothing wrong with you").

Have either of you kept a food diary?  It's very possible you could be having a reaction to certain foods.  For instance, if I eat anything with meat tenderizer or stone ground corn (tortillas, corn chips, etc), I will have severe abdominal pains for hours.  I still have occasional mild to moderate abdominal pains, but can at least prevent some of the more severe episodes.

Hope this helps you.
