15 year old Fox Terror "Missy"

My Missy is 15 years old...its bad enough I just lost my puppy a few days ago now she is ill. Her skin and eyes are yellow and I know that is a sign of liver failure. It's so bad not that she is unable to walk without assistant...I have to carry her outside and assist her in using the bathroom. Trust me I have no problem is doing these things...she is my baby but it's breaking my heart to see her like this. Missy is a Diva...I mean the cleaness dog I have ever had in my life and she has and always be a great joy in my life.I have been unemployed for two years and not able to find any vet that could help me. I won't start my new job for another 2 weeks but my Missy is suffering. I cry everyday now because there is nothing I can do. I have also come to realize the people in my life could care less for animals. My Missy has been a part of my life since my daughter was 8 years old and she is now 19 years old away in school. I have not told her yet because that's her Diva. I live in Atlanta, Georgia. I have tried calling the Humane Society but their phone system is setup not to answer just repeated recording. Does anyone know a program that assist people in my stituation regarding pets?

Sad to read of your loss, it sounds like you gave and continue to give your dogs a good home and love, they are lucky dogs to have you.

Thank you for the information. I'm enrolling in pet insurance and have made an appointment with a vet for my other four dogs. A friend of the family heard what was happening with me and my dogs...she a vet doctor..she will help me. Unfortunately, Missy pass away last night in my arms. I can only hope she wasn't in pain but she wag her little tail before she left me. Missy-Diva and Spike would be truely miss. Thank you again.

A lot of vets will take Care Credit which if the bill is over a certain amount you can pay over time...six months to a year depending on the charges.  Alternatively, you can ask your vet whether you can set up a payment plan.  If your dog truly is in liver failure, it may be time to send her to the rainbow bridge.  Do you feel like your dog is in pain?
