Dog nose injury

I recently got a 8 month old yellow lab.  We've only had him a few days.  He injured his nose while we were away at work.  It looks just like a small abrassion that I didn't think much of at first.  But every night he seems to peel the scab away and I'm not sure what to do about it.  Also, we were just playing in the house and he ran into my knee and his nose was bloodied up.  What should I do?  Is there any type of cream or something I should be applying to it?  My wife was going to put A&D ointment on it but I wasn't sure that was a good idea.  Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.  I have included a pic of the injury, I hope that helps.  Thanks in advance.

neosporin works wonders but if you go to a bigr store i have used something before that was actually meant for horses cant remember what it was called but it work wonders on my yellow lab and a lot cheaper than a trip to the vet good luck and may your lab bring you many years of enjoyment i know i would be lost without mine.

I've used neosporin> I even use bagbalm. Bagbalm was originally made for cow utters, but it works great on minor abrasions. I would go with the bagbalm on his nose, if he licks it off, it won't hurt him. You can get in at any drug store, it comes in a square green tin.
