Dog passed

Tuesday night we came home and noticed a large lump on her side, she could barely walk. My husband got her out side and she had a bowel movement (she ate her dinner @ 5) after she came in she laid on the bathroon floor and just looked very sad. i decided I would take her to the vet in the morning. About an hour later she was laying on the floor in the dining room and was barely breathing. We put her on a blanket and she dies within a half hour. Any idea what that bump could have been and why it would bring her down so quickly.I was thining maybe she had stomach cancer but I don't know and probably never will. By the way she was a 13 year old lab mix.
Thank you
Ruth

I'm so sorry about your loss.
Our dog just passed away a couple hours ago too. He had an autoimmune disorder - no tumors and passed the same way. Shallow breathing until he stopped. Also on a blanket on the dining room floor. It does my heart good to see this is how dogs go regardless of cause of death. We also asked ourselves why the sudden loss of breath. We wondered if he was choking or caught pneumonia, or was just tired and gave up. It's a very heartbreaking thing to see.

could she have eaten something odd like panty hose? they get accordian-ed up in the intestines- anything elastic-y such as rubber bands- my dog loves to eat them- maybe a srot of a leathery taste- I don't know what the attraction is-

the only other things is internal injury or as you said fast growing tumor- could be so many different things- please don't blame yourself for any of it just celebrate the time you did have together- We are here if you need support~

regardless I am soooo sorry for you and I know you are grieving.
