Identifying Eye Problems??

Today my 16mo old puppy, Coco, was about 25 ft away from me and when she turned and saw me, she started barking as if I were a stranger.  I've been observing her since.  Awhile ago I had her on my lap and she turned her face up to look at me and i noticed that she has a film over her eyes.  I checked her sisters (Sweet P) eyes and they are clear.  Both puppies are sisters, their Mom is Shitzu/Chihuahua and daddy is 100% Maltese. Mom and Dad are healthy and have no problems with thier eyes.  Could this film be affecting her eye sight.. what is this film?

This should definitely be checked by your Vet or a Veterinary opthomologist if you have one in the area.  Could be an infection or could be something genetically inherited.

Clearly, this film is very much effecting her eyesight!  If what your seeing is actually a milky color to the eye itself, it's Juvenile Cataracts. These can be removed (Surgery) before she is blind....If the coating is indeed a film OVER the eye itself, then it's an infection of the eyes.....

An infection is treated with antibiotic eyedrops....Your Vet will determine what bacteria & which medication to use.....They will either be drops or an ointment...
Have her checked ASAP as eye infections can go from bad to worse, quickly.....

Come back and let us know how she's doing........Good luck.....Karla
