Glad to hear he's doing better...Adding a good probiotic (At least 1 billion cfu) will help him tremendously....Your Vet may sell one......Charlie needs this to clear the yeast....You can purchase one for humans or use one for dogs.....Take care & thanks for the update...Karla
Thank you to all for your help .
Charlie seems to be better now that we have been doing the veggie thing with a little Taste of The Wild with salmon .
Although we have done this before .
That yeasty smell is going away .
Bless his heart , he is such a good guy .
Thank you to all of you .
Charlie is on his third round of Otomax and has had the scrapings to identify the yeast .
I am going to follow up all of your suggestions .
Have you had the yeast cultured to see what kind it is? There is an ear medication called Otomax that is used to cure yeast infections in the ear and it is very effective against the Malassezia pachydermatis yeast organism. Why not talk to your vet about using Otomax if you have not yet tried it? It's actually VERY effective against yeast in the ears, with one drawback - dogs that it is used on tend to lose their hearing for a short period of time during its use, so you need to be very careful that your dog doesn't get out of the house or escape his leash while using it, because if he manages to wander into the street he won't hear traffic coming which, naturally, is very dangerous. The deafness resolves itself within about 30 days of discontinuing use. It's actually kind of a small price to pay for ridding your dog of the annoying yeast infection. Please keep us posted on your pug's progress!

Poor you and poor Charlie. :-(
I am NOT in any way recommending this but do know a couple of people that have used the information with some success. I suggest you read it and take what information you will from it. It may not be a bad idea to consult with a Holistic Vet. I assume the diagnosis of a yeast infection was done through skin scrapings/biopsies and blood work?
Do note the recommendation of bathing with the apple cider vinegar (if there are no open sores). I have used vinegar on my dogs for years for various reasons.
Here is the link. You might also try a google search and do some reading. If it were me, I would not be giving any innoculations and adding a probiotic and/or Lactinex daily.
