what could cause a hard lump on the side of my dog's neck

My dog woke up the other morning not being able to stand up And was falling over every time she tried to walk. Now she has a really hard lump on the side of her neck right underneath her ear And she tilts her head for head to the other side. She's been eating a little bit and drinking and urinating I'm not sure if she has had a bowel movement Because unfortunately I haven't been able to see it. The emergency vet Told me to give her Over the counter Meclizine because she said it sounded like Vestibular.I gave her the meclizine and she seem to get a little bit better with her walking but that's about it.What do you think it could possibly be.

Did you actually take her to the emergency vet or did you just call them and tell them the symptoms?  If you didn't actually go to the vet, you need to do so.  The hard lump could be anything from a knotted muscle to an infected lymph node and the only way to tell for sure and get her the medication, if any, that she needs is for a vet to examine her and prescribe it.
