Bad Breath and Post-nasal drip

I am a male 60 years old.  Good health.  Most of the time I have a bad breath and feel that I have some stuff like post-nasal drip in my throat which I can not get rid of.  I have had many tests done.  There are some minor signs of sinus but it is not too serious.  When I feel that my throat is clogged and I can't clear it, I know I have a very bad breath.  The only time it had disappeared was when they put me on anti-biotic and it goes away for a few weeks but it still comes back.

The tooth paste and mouth wash.  After 10 days it all went away and never came back.  Now I use them once a month just to make sure ... very very happy with the progress :-)

If you have bad breath, fix the problem, don't mask with it mouthwash.   Constant bad breath is almost always from the stomach, not mouth.

I HAVE FOUND A CURE!!!!!

have had chronic pnd and HORRIBLE bad breath for 10 years.  I avoided treatments bc I was scared there would be no result.  However, my doctor prescribed me prilosec 20 to take twice a day (before breakfast and before dinner).  Prilosec is for acid reflux which is often associated with pnd.  Also, I started using a nasal irrigator.  I always doubted it would be effective, but it worked!!  My sinuses have never been this clear in years.  Get the neilmed high volume low pressure nasal irrigator.  It works wonders!  Also, scrape your tongue with a tongue scraper.  A spoon will do.  Make sure you have good oral hygiene as well!  Seriously, I didn't think this would work but it did!!

Just wanted to thank you on your posting dated 8/15.  I purchased the ThreaBreath from CVS.  I've been using it and a miracle has happened.  My BAD BREATH has DISSAPPEARD.  The doctors and my dentist is very surprised and had no idea.  Thank for all your help ... this is a lifesaver for me.

I can sympathize with you.  The mouth and nose are hooked up together and I have a foul order coming from my mouth and nose.  But mostly my nose.  It seems to be getting worse.  It smells like the sewer.  I take very good care of my teeth and see a Dentist on a regular who has verified that the smell is not coming from my mouth or teeth.  She felt that it was coming from my stomach so I have seen a Gastrointestinal Doctor who did an endoscopy of my stomach and confirmed that I did not have any type of intestinal disease/disorder.  I've had a colonoscopy done to confirm that there is no blockage of any sort.  I have seen an ENT Specialist who ran a scope down my throat and in my nose and couldn't find a thing wrong with me.  A foul odor is definitely a sign that something is wrong but no one can seem to figure out what it is.  I don't like to sit by anyone if I can help it and I talk as little as possible because I know other people can smell it.  I need help.  I have applied to be seen at the Mayo Clinic in Florida because I don't know what else to do.  I hope I get accepted to be evaluated.  Some of the problem is that some doctors are so busy trying to get to their next patient that they spend very little time with you and the right tests are sometimes not ordered and you don't get the proper diagnosis.  I've spent so much time bouncing from one doctor to another with no results and I've purchased so many medications that did no good but cost me a lot of money.  A doctor simply looking up your nose and in your mouth is not enough.  I found out later from another doctor that the ENT specialist should have swabbed the area and sent it to the lab to be tested for certain things (which he didn't do).  After I waited so long just to get an appointment with him in the first place.  I am so frustrated right now.  I have visited other websites where people have the same problem and it turned out that they had a fungal infection or even Staph in their sinuses.  Could be that you have an acute fungal infection in your sinuses as well that is causing bad breath.  I feel for you.  I know how difficult it can be.  Especially when you have to go to work and be aroudn others all day long.  Good luck to you.

I found out that TheraBreath ships internationally. You need to either contact them by phone or go to their international distributor in the United Kingdom. Here's the website: http://www.therahealth.biz

I would advise going for this. As the name SmartMouth refers to, it only can help with halitosis of the mouth. TheraBreath has nasal sprays and throat pumps to deal with hard to reach regions.

Maybe this sounds like I'm advertising. But I'm actually not. I'm just a really happy customer.

Yup same problem here. Same reaction I get too. People don't really care about it. It's pretty much the equivalent of not being able to open your mouth around people. You can guess how well that goes down. You're damned if you open it and damned if you don't. Fairly screwed up.

I've taken the antibiotic too and it's gone away for 2 measly days and then come back. My breath is very bad and it's hard to live with in all honesty. My mouth tastes like **** most of the time and it makes me not feel too spriteful because of it.

If you're in the USA I'd advise TheraBreath. Some patented oxidising stuff. Comes in mouthwash and toothpaste.

If you're international go for SmartMouth.

Sadly I myself are neither in the USA or eligible for smart mouth. Smart Mouth is great stuff but my breath is so bad that not even it tames it for long.

Good luck. I really hope either of these things help. I'd buy both if I were you and give both of them a shot.
