Bump in throat for the past several months

In May of 2007, my brother suddenly chocked me as I was eating. After this incident, it seems like I have always had a small bump in the throat. Whenever I drink something or swallow my saliva, I can hear and feel and small bump in my throat. When I'm just doing my day to day activities and breathing, I don't feel it. What is it? Is this normal? What can I do to fix it?
