Consistent throat problem for alost 9-10 months in a year

Hi There,

Around 4 years back i.e Nov 2008 i met with a bike accident and had small injuries on right side of my face and hands. Also doctor told me that i have a minor crack in jaw which would go away by itself. otherwise everything was fine.
After 2-3 months i started getting throat infections which would go away within1-2 weeks. when this happened more frequently, my ENT doc asked to get CT Scan which showed sinus infections mainly on right side and deviated septum towards right side. He told to take antibiotics and it would go away and nothing to worry about deviated septum as most people have it.
I didn't feel much problem with sinus infection. But problem is frequent throat infections. After many visits my doctor diagnosed that i have tonsil deposits and he took white coloured structure from throat. He suggested to either get tonsil operated or leave with throat infection due to deposits which is not harmful.
But i was afraid of these surgery and delayed for one more year.
Now i started getting throat problem more frequently and decided to get done with tonsillectomy.
While searching on internet for tonsillectomy procedure i saw that due to sinus infection, postnasal drip will happen which inturn causes tonsillitis and tonsil deposits white or yellow in colour.
Sinus infection inturn may be due to deviated septum.

So my dillema now is whether to get my deviated septum corrected by operation or to get tonsillectomy done or both.
Please advice me on this as i could no further deal with frequent throat infections which i am sufering from last 4 years

Thanks Anitha. Sorry for late reply. I considered the same i.e. tonsillectomy.
But i am afraid that i heard that even after tonsillectomy, the problem may recur after 2-3 years.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Understand your predicament. Agree with you, that they are all interrelated. Focus on your presenting problem now. Recurrent tonsillitis is an indication for tonsillectomy, as the tonsils may harbor the infection which keeps flaring up, or they may develop new infections. If there is no evidence of sinusitis now, you can wait and watch.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
