Constant Nose Bleeds

My husband gets these constant nose bleeds whenever the atmosphere is too hot or stuffy. For instance, we'll lay in bed and watch TV and the TV makes our bedroom very hot and all of a sudden his nose will start bleeding. Or when we're doing something outside in the heat, or just anywhere it's hot and stuffy, his nose will bleed! He doesn't want to waste money on a doctor just for a nose bleed no matter how much I tell him to go get it checked out because that's not normal! I was just wondering if a constant nose bleed could be a symptom of a medical problem or what could it be? Thanks for any suggestions!

Your instincts are correct, although he is more likely to be right!  Most commonly these are from superficial vessels on the nasal septum bleeding from a mucosa that is too dry, a scratch, Aspirin (or other drug) use, blowing to hard, etc.  Generally benign stuff that usually be treated easily.  However, there are other conditions (various cancers and autoimmune-type diseases, to name the main ones) that we generally like to rule out first.  Thus the recommended visit...
