Does this sound like sinus? if not....what?

I posted this in another forum but Im not sure whether it was the right one...

Im not sure whats wrong. I have trouble swalloing and I think recently I have more saliva in my mouth. I have sinus and Ive always had some trouble swalloing but now its worse and I think there is more saliva than usual in my mouth. Im going to go to the doc but Ive been in the past about my sinus and they just say, drink a lot of water, thats it. Im worried, does anyone know what it could be? How can I be sure if there is more slaiva in my mouth or if Im just imagining it?Do doctors have tests for that? I also think I can feel the saliva when I talk, Ive been looking on the internet and have found loads of really scary diseases and its making me stress, how can I know if I have excess saliva or just a normal amount?? Im male 22 and this is all getting to me. Im really conscious of it and its making it worse. Please help me.

Symptoms...I have to consciously swallow, I feel like theres something there that I have to swallow, its not in my throat but more comming from above. Could this be mucus? I cant seem to see it... My nose is often blocked...but sometimes when I blow theres mucus and other times there isnt..I get headaches, soemtimes with pressure on my eyes like someones pushing over them.Ive also noticed I seem to have more saliva in my mouth....

Please any opinions advice would be appreciated. Im going to the doctor but I suppose hes going to send me to the specialist and thats probably going to take forever....

I have some of those symptoms similar to that.  I also have difficulty swallowing.  It feels like my right side of my throught is screwed up and it takes effort to swallow.  I also have headaches behind the eye and dizzy spells at times.  I too have sinus issues and believe that to be the culprit.  I am a speech path. and start to imagine the worst as well but imaging can create more problems.  Once you start stressing and focusing on the problem you end up creating more.  We were taught in class that some swallowing disorders are psychological and I believe that if you focus too  much on it you will end up with self created swallowing issues.
You need to take this view point: if you are able to function with no major problems in your day, than you should be thankful; Always remember that we only are given once chance here on earth and we need make everyday count.  If we continue to research and focus on diseases and disorders, we spend less time focusing on the fact that we have been given a day to do something wonderful with.

It definitely sounds like you have some sinus issues.  That feeling in the back of your throat that there is something "from above" that you can't swallow is likely post nasal drip.  That annoying feeling is the mucus that won't let go.  As for your saliva, it could simply be increased awareness (are you by chance a little bit of a hypochondriac?).  I do know that sometimes I find myself swallowing increased saliva sometimes too, but I don't really give it any thought.

But yeah, all your other symptoms seem indicative of sinusitis, or something similar.
