ENT says it's GERD, medication seems to work but very strange to me

I had a topic about this and my new ENT says it's GERD although without heartburn. My throat is now better since I been on Nexium for 2 weeks. My 2 symptoms are, a feeling as if I have slim or paste in my throat and it causes my to half-way clear my throat and then swallow to clear that but I can't always fully clear it and I have to repeteitely do it constantly. And my second symptoms is I have a sensation as if the uvula is being rubbed on the back of my tongue as if it is too long or something and that causes to push my tongue back to move it different positions.

I researched GERD and it may very well affect the larynx and parynx basically the whole throat and causes sore throat, throat clearing etc. but nothing like the symptoms I have. So am I the only like with those symptoms from GERD? I really think it's GERD since the symptoms are better, but who knows maybe it's getting better on its own?

Hiya--
I have been diagnosed with LPRD back in September.  I can absolutely relate with the symtoms that you are describing.  I am asuming that this is a new problem that developed for you.  Mine was 'activated' by some antibiotics that I took which simply did not agree with m body.  I got a extreme dry throat, with a pale tongue, throat irritation, NO HEARTBURN, and my throat felt like something was 'loose' in it.  My doctor prescribed me to 300 MG of Ranatidine (which is Zantac) and to get on the basic GERD diet (no caffine, no soda -- especially dark soda), no chocolate, no acidic foods (ie tomatos, fatty foods, alcohol) and stop smoking.  oh---and drink a TON of water.  THEN, when you are tired of drinking water---DRINK SOME MORE.  I drank more than a gallon of water a day.  During this period, I also took (by my own account) some LICORICE ROOT EXTRACT (vitamin suppliments) which helped lubricate my esophogus (I believe that  I had some throat ulcers due to the reflux--an ulcer is simply a 'cut' or sore in the throat---sound really serious, but it does happen with all this reflux activity going on in your throat as well as the stress that this whole process causes on you emotionally).  I took the licorice for about a few weeks, and I believe that this helped me as well as the Ranatidine.  This medicine at nighttime, with the STRICK diet improved my throat 80% in a month.  It got rid of the dryness, and the paleness of my tongue, and I also got rid of the hoarsness in my throat.  And basically, the more you stick to the diet, the better you  will feel.  Your larynx will eventually heal.  BUT--for some people, indulging in the 'acidic foods' will make you lapse or experience some reflux.  Or It could get completely better.  I guess it depends on how determined you are.  So, every day, I ate a light cereal breakfast with apple juice, lunch would be GRILLED lightly seasoned chicken breasst over lettuce,  and  dinner would always be a grilled fish (tilapia, salmon or tuna)  -- once a week, I would eat a lean london broil.  Oh- and basic carbs - ie lite breads, crackers and pretzels are okay.
Hope that helps --  Let me know how you are doing.

Actually I meant he said it's LPRD not GERD, but still my symptoms are still odd.
