Foul Smell From Nose

I have read multiple threads here, but most are very old.

Preface:

Sunday: Wicked toothache (upper right molar)...I have bad teeth. (took OTC painkillers - Advil- liquidtabs)

Monday: Tooth somewhat better, Had a chill all day, felt like a fever coming on...overnight fever, chills, sweats, tingly skin, misc. aches and pains...took Tylonol Night tabs, and Neo Citron, hard to sleep.

Tuesday: No fever, no toothache....a couple of episodes of post nasal drip, yellow/green mucus right nostril, remnants of blood in left...not relly stuffed up, but need the odd blow....no blood dripping from left, but it blows out, and evident on kleenex wipes

Wednesday: Terrible odor from right nostril, mucus on kleenex smells aweful, the left is same as yesterday.

Thursday: (Today) Odor really bad, somewhat constant (90%) other than that, no fever/cold,  not really stuffed up...but blowing my nose hoping to get rid of the mucus there and the smell.

Please Help!

That makes total sense to me.

Update:...I went toa walk in clinic today, doc says I have sinusitis, and perscribed me Antibiotic pills (1 twice a day / 10 days), and a heavy duty nasal spray (2 shots each nostril / once a day)...

I started both at 3:30pm...it's now 6:10pm...the odor has subsided greatly (thank goodness), it's still there but comes and goes...the spray is working good, no nose blowing since 3:30pm...so that may be helping limit the smell, as it is the most noticable when blowing.

I can handle dealing with the sinusitis, but this "stink" has got to go.

(also, NO I am not diabetic)

Thanks.

Seems you have a dentigenic (from the tooth) sinusitis.

The roots of the last 2-3 molars stick into the maxillary sinus, and with infection of the tooth>root, the intervening 'wall' can break down and the 'pus' spills into the sinus, to come out through the nose.

The infection is usually caused by anaerobic bacteria and hence the bad smell.

See your ENT, and you may require Dental care as well. Hope you are not a diabetic.

Best rgds,

TA

Not really any headaches as of yet...the odd time I get a spike of pain in my right temple area (seems to react with occasional tooth throbbing)...but not a full blown headache.

This is truly driving me nuts. The smell from my right nostril is horrendous.
