I still do not know exactly what it is but I found (kind of) a treatment. They sell these "wubble tiny Brite" Ballons at some stores, you blow them up using a straw type thing but when I blow it up it puts enough pressure behind my uvula that after a few blows it breaks the mucus chunk free.
I have this too! It is driving me crazy sometimes but the weird feeling inside my head like a crawling start I start freaking out and the only thing that helps is crying . Crying releases all this mucus from my nose and I feel better but I live in fear of that buildup please help did you get any help does anyone have any help with this I don't really know how to explain it thanks a lot you guys hope you are all feeling better
I posted about the same thing a few months ago. It turns out for me that it’s hormone related - caused by low estrogen and estrogen fluctuations. I was fine before my hysterectomy (which was 7 months ago) - then it all started almost immediately afterwards. I went to 2 different ENTs - one agreed it was hormones (as his wife had just had a baby so he knew how hormones can affect sinus and mucus. I went on to Estrogen HRT (Evorel 75 patches) and also Flixonase steroid nasal drops (400mg strength- so Very strong!). I find putting lemon juice in my water helps a lot. Also sniffing salt water every night helps. It’s because of in women estrogen is responsible (among other things) for keeping saliva viscous and thin. When estrogen levels drop - saliva and mucus thickens, gets sticky and dries up - causing that lump feeling as it collects and sits behind your uvula. You may also get a dry mouth and throat. Mines improved since I’ve been on HRT (took about 5 months though) and the steroid drops helped too. Avoid eating raw onion and things that dry your mouth. Avoid sugar too. Eat lemons, fruits etc - things that stimulate saliva. Hope this helps.
I have the same issue except i have had my tonsils removed for about 11 years now, I still have not found a solution please let me know if you find one
And also if i do manage to get a little something from sucking on the back of my throat the relief is very very brief and I feel pressure again in less than an hour.
