Is a permanent swollen tongue a bad sign

I have had issues with my throat for some time. It started when I had a lung infection a few years ago. I spent 1 year fighting it. I then started to have lumps in my throat. Either phlegm or things stuck in my tonsils. I went to a specialist that said my tonsils were large but that was about it. Upon hearing this I 'cleaned' them out and they have subsided. But throughout all this my tongue seems to have enlarged. I know this sounds weird. But for over a year I have had a hard time as my tongue pushes up against my teeth and the roof of my mouth. And now when I look at it, it seems to stretch out my sides of my uvula. (not sure if that makes sense)

I feel like my tongue and inside of my mouth is in constant pain (not a hurtful one) A dull ache like the kind you feel after you work out your muscles. I constantly feel like I am trying to keep it in place.

Hope that all makes sense. I feel like I am going crazy!

Hi meshe1313, (I use the same numbers)

I would go get that checked out. That is odd and if it continues to swell other problems could occur.
