Odd sharp pain in face/mouth/ear

Last night I developed the strangest pain in my face and I've tried to explain it to my friends and family but it's so hard to pinpoint. The pain is coming from the top part of my mouth, near where my top teeth begin on the left side. Everytime I forcibly swallow, it hurts. When I swallow anything else (food, drinks) it doesn't hurt at all. It also feels like it is somehow connected to my ear, as my ear feels a little full. My throat doesn't hurt at all, and other than this sharp pain when I forcibly swallow (it also happens when I scrunch up the left side of my face, mostly my cheek), there aren't any other symptoms. I'm so frustrated, as this is so annoying and I don't get health insurance until the beginning of next month so I REALLY don't want to go to the hospital until then (unless necessary). Does anyone understand the pain I'm talking about or have ANY ideas as to what it could be? Please help!

The one sided facial pain could be due to sinusitis, if it is accompanied by nasal stuffiness and sometimes a post nasal drip. It could also be due to tooth infections, impacted tooth or skin infections. The others are migrainous headaches and those caused due to brain disorders, disorders of the eyes , neck or ears to name a few. To find a cure you need to consult your primary care physician for proper assessment. In the meantime take OTC naproxen for relief from pain.
