I've had a sore throat for a year now, and I never have any other symptoms at all. I feel fine. My throat just.....hurts. It's not a normal scratchy sore throat, I can't explain it, and it doesn't come and go or anything. It's ALWAYS there. I've noticed that whenever I go to the doctor they say my lymph nodes are swollen. I saw an Ear Nose Throat specialist and he wants me to get my tonsils out, because he thinks I have tonsillitis, but I've researched this and I just don't have any of the symptoms. I don't have a fever, runny nose, headache, and no red swollen tonsils or patches on the tonsils.
Is it possible to have tonsillitis without any symptoms of tonsillitis?
I don't want to go through getting my tonsils out if this isn't what is wrong with me. On the other hand, I don't know what else can be done, no one knows what this is.
