Tinnitus, Ear Infection and Pain

ox9
About three weeks ago my ears started ringing, so I went to the doctor to figure out what was going on. She checked me out and told me my left ear drum was pink and that I might have an ear infection. So she prescribed some antibiotics, a decongestant, and also suggested I have my hearing checked for tinnitus. I got my hearing checked and it tests out prefectly! This has been going on for a month now: The first 2 weeks I only experianced ringing in both ears (tinnitus perhaps?), at the end of the third week my left ear started hurting and I went to the doctor, I'm now finishing up my medication with no change whatsoever. I have the constant ringing noise in both ears and my left ear is killing me. Do I have an ear infection of some sort? Will this ringing ever go away? If it is an ear infection would temporary tinnitus settle in both ears or would it be permanant?

I'll start with wishing you both all the best!

I am doing some research on the concept of patient-to-patient support and was hoping you could assist me...
Do you prefer patient-to-patient forums over expert-to-patient forums? Do you find the info provided by patients more reliable? (Otherwise why not just ask the expert...)
(Thanks for your cooperation!)

I'm having a similar problem my left ear starts to be more 'sensitive' after water went into it. Prior to it I was having very bad sinus which I thought was cold or influenza which lasted for 3 weeks, after reading some article I realized that it could be some fluid which 'collected' behind my inner ear.
