What are these? - Bumps in throat - Illness

About 7 days ago I started developing a cough which progressed rather quickly overnight into a very severe dry cough with a burning throat. Lost my voice by the third day. Saw my doctor and the consensus was that it was a viral laryngitis type of sickness. Though at the time (3rd day) did not have any visible issues in throat.

Then developed into a more congested mucousal cough. Headaches and fatigue throughout the majority of sickness. I have since developed sort of bumps or nodules in the back of my throat which seem odd to me. I have had strep multiple times and usually develop more the classic white spots, this is different.

I have had 2 new sexual partners lately (in the last 5 weeks) and am wondering if this is possibly related to something transmissible in that way. Does this look like Herpes Esophagitis or something along those lines? Or is this merely inflammation from general illness? Something else?

I am on day 7 and the cough has considerably eased into a milder dry cough with discomfort in the throat but a headache persists and the prominence of these spots on my throat is concerning.
