does a deviated septum need treatment?
hi
a CT has shown I have moderate deviation of midnasal septum to the right, narrowing of right nasal passage, mild to moderate mucosal thickening in nasal turbinates, (more so on right), and also mild mucosal thickening in osteomeatal complexes causing mild to moderate narrowing. I was given antibiotics to clear mild rhinosinusitis and refered to an ENT.
My symptoms are somewhat frequent mild sinus pain (including mild facial tenderness on right half of nose), usually clear discharge, and what I think is post nasal drip (where back of my throat feels thick, need to clear throat regularly).  this seems to be worse when i ride my bike when my nose just runs unstoppably and it feels like im choking from phlegm at back of throat.
im wondering if i really need to see an ent? and do deviated septums always need surgery?
