jordy or whoever, any ideas with the nose being dry and eyes and my lips are very dry i don't believe dry lips are a part of ens..does anyone think dehydration can cause any of this or even stress/anxiety which i have  a lot of ...or even post surgery stress disorder or something..just curious as ens is usually acompanied by nasal congestion and i'm breathing ok...and i know my turbs are sweeling up enough cause when i lay on them i can't breath well out of that side so that is a good sign i think

I'm guessing you have dry lips because you are breathing through your mouth most of the time, possibly also while sleeping.  I had terribly dry lips and mouth while I was healing.  You're right, I don't believe dry lips or eyes has anything to do with ENS.  Dry eyes would have to do with your tear glands.  I remember my eyes kept dripping tears when I had my packs in, and my ENT told me that was because the packs were so far back up in my nose that they were blocking my tear ducts so instead of running down into my ducts my tears were running right out of my eyes.  So aside from draining tears AWAY, I don't think that your nose would have anything to do with getting tears in your eyes to begin with.  But I'd say look up how tear ducts work just to be sure.

I do remember also (it's amazing how it's all coming back to me now that I'm answering your questions) that I also had the horrible burning deep up in my nose/sinuses during healing.  It felt like someone had dragged a rope through my throat right up through and out my nose!  As I healed, that all diminished.

It sounds like your turbs are starting to work again if you can feel them swelling.  Is it at all possible that you have a chronic sinus infection?  Are you on antiobiotics?  Also, do you smoke?  That will inhibit healing and moisture, if you do.

Oh, and yes, dehydration is very bad during healing. I drink insane amounts of water normally, so that was never much of a problem for me.  You have to drink a LOT of water ALL the time to keep your sinuses healthy.  Are you using saline spray AT ALL?  My ENT told me to practically wear it on a string around my neck while I was healing!  His exact words were "saline is your friend, spray it into your nose ALL THE TIME while you're healing.  KEEP YOUR SINUSES MOIST with saline spray."

Are you doing any of these things?
