Can you comment on how the stapes surgery went? My ENT said this is something that would fix my hearing but that he thought it was too soon to "saw open my head" I've tried to read up on this and I guess in a way he is correct about the "sawing" but.... How long are you out of work? Did you do both ears? How does it feel to suddenly be able to hear 2000 hertz? ;-)
should i expect the 'popping' to be there always...getting it every day? it is annoying and i hope it will not last forever. any info? thanks, danny
Hello and hope you are doing well.
There are tubes called 'Eustachian tubes' which connect the middle ear to the throat, this balances the air pressure in the ears. So, if these tubes are opened during the act of swallowing or increasing the air pressure, this can cause a popping sound in the ears. This is a normal phenomenon.
