tonsillitis question

I would like to know if cronic (chronic) tonsillitis, (to the point that a tonsillectomy is required) is hereditary?

hi,recurrent tonsillitis or inflammation of the tonsils might have a strong genetic link.A study was done to find out the link, it showed possible genetic predisposition related with recurrent tonsillitis.
