6 MONTHS NO DIAGNOSIS

WELL I AM GOING ON SIX MONTHS NO DIAGNOSIS.  I STARTED WITH A FULNESS IN MY LEFT EAR AND WHAT I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH WAS VERTIGO. NOT DIZZY JUST VERY OFF BALANCE STILL HAVE A WALKER AND CANE.  MY HEARING SEEMED TO GO OVER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND WITH MY LUCK IT IS IN BOTH EARS. 2 URGENT CARE DR, MY PCP, A ENT AND A NEUROLOGIST.  THE ENT SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG EVEN THOUGH I COULD NOT HEAR HAD A MRI AND AND TWO HEARING TESTS 80%/20%.AFTER THE SECOND TEST HE TOLD ME TO GET A HEARING AID .  WENT TO AN AUDIOLOGIST AND GOT THE HEARING AID . TODAY I GOT UP AND COULD NOT HEAR AS WELL WITH MY HEARING AID.  I HOPE THE HEARING AID IS THE PROBLEM AND NOT MY EARS.

Sorry, I did not see that you had an MRI.  Regular MRIs without contrast will not show a
Vestibular Schwannoma.

My father had similar complaints as you've posted.  He ended up going completely deaf in one ear.  Finally the ENT requested a brain MRI with contrast and he was diagnosed with a Vestibular Schwannoma.  He was able to have gamaknife surgery in Orlando, and not he's fine.  He still can't hear in his left ear, but he no other issues.  I'm not saying you have this, but an MRI with contrast might be a good idea to rule it out.  My father is 66 years old.
