Acute otitis extrema, getting freaked out!

Earplugs (silicon) caused a middle ear infection end of September (no eardrum involvement).  ENT cleaned it, gave drops, no antibiotics.  After about six visits I realized I needed the next level of expert, went to large teaching hospital 45 miles away, saw Ear specialist (not ENT, next level).  He gave me Levaquin (horrible drug, nasty!)  Seven days later, cleared up, stopped antibiotic, then got what was most likely the flu but I had the flu shot a month before so it blew through me, short but bad.  Ear problem came back.  Went back on Levaquin a month atter first course and now done with it.  Left ear got involved at this point, minor.  Right ear is not anywhere near as plugged as it has been but needs cleaning out.  The Great Doctor didn't bother when I saw him last Thursday, he had students with him, much more important than I am.  I had to do internet research to comfort myself that my HEARING WILL GO BACK TO NORMAL probably in a couple of weeks, but this is freaking me out.  Anyone else ever have this acute otitis extrema?  No eardrum involvement?  Tell me I will hear normally again!  :*(

Please tell doctors you are allergic to Levaquin and Cipro; they are not fit to give people IMO.  Side effects outweigh benefit.  For your ear, I like to mix up some witch hazel with a couple of drops of tea tree oil and drop it in the ear.  It burns a little, but not so bad when it has the witch hazel as straight tea tree.  Do that once or twice a day and it will clean up bacteria and yeast, and any debris will side right out in days.
