Hi i have bumps on the back of my throat now and blood coming out when i spit up mucus and i have had a sore throat for a month and a half it went away for a tiny bit now its back. With the blood i explained about idk what it could be i am scared and i get frequent. Heart burn
Did you find out what it is?
A general throat infection or something else?
I have bumps on the back of my tongue. Yet it feels as though I have a sore throat. And I've tried using listerin to kill some of the bacteria but it's not going away.
Hello and hope you are doing well.
As the tonsils are enlarged, its more likely to be tonsillitis. Herpes is usually a clinical diagnosis and screening for STDs may not include testing for herpes. Although blood tests may help detect a herpes infection, the results aren't always conclusive. With your symptoms it's unlikely it is herpes. White patches are common in many throat infections. The sore throat and tonsillitis which you had may have contributed to it. In response to the infection the body produces soft white debris which collects in the tiny indentations in the tonsils called crypts. Repeated salt water gargles will help. Mix one teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of warm water and gargle. If the patches increase in size or become painful then consult your doctor.
Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
I haven't been taking medicine besides Claritin. And my left tonsil is swollen now.. It doesn't hurt too much I don't have any blisters/ulcers/cold sores on my mouth. And behind the flab part I can see some white butt can't really get to it cause it makes me gag
Hello doctor thank you very much! But quick question does the std test actually test for herpies? all I asked was for the std test and they took a lot of my blood?
Hello and hope you are doing well.
As both of you have tested negative for STDs, its unlikely that the bumps or blisters are due to a herpes infection. ‘Cobble stoning’ of the throat as it is called because of its appearance, can occur with viral infections of the throat. This may take about two weeks to subside. So, continue with your medications, in addition you could take OTC multivitamins. Take plenty of warm oral fluids and lots of rest. For further relief from your symptoms you could do warm salt water gargles and steam inhalations. Please ensure to do this prior to your meals. Hope this helped and Do Take Care!
