Ear inflammation do to lack of earwax

I have had a severe problem with ear infections in the outer ear. I get it severel times a month, and have taken antibiotics, but it always comes back. It is eating away at my ear, but my doctor just keeps prescribing antibiotics.
The ear does not produce any earwax, and I have been told by a different doctor, that the lack of earwax can be the cause of infection.
Is there something I can do to stimulate the production?
