how's he doing now? any more fever? any more headache? if so, it's worth a visit.

I would take him to the doctor--he will probably need an xray--and maybe antibiotics for an infection that could be developing. I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like a potentially serious injury. Hope he feels better soon.
My 2.5 year old son fell off a chair while holding a stick and it went up his nose. It bled profusely for 10 min. and then subsided - no problems since. Then, 48 hours later, he comes down with rapid onset of fever 102.5 and complaints of headache to front of forehead. After receiving, Tylenol, he seems much better. Should I be concerned and have him seen for follow up?
Thanks,
concerned mom

I do suffer from occasional BPPV (vertigo & dizziness) I had Physical Therapy and that did the trick..
I was fine for about 2 yrs...I recently had a bout of it, however I had my excercises from my PT....
I managed to do them and feel better...prior to this ...anytime it is cold out my left ear gets sharp pains that come and go....they are not continuous...but very bothersome...
Does anybody else get pains in their ears in cold weather or windy weather....oh yes I wear ear-muffs now and it seems to help...
If my house is cool I will also get the pains in my left ear...and once in awhile in my right...
any one else? comments appreciated...

Thank you to the both of you for your prompt replies. I really really appreciate it.
Been there too....
But not as violent. I was hit in the right ear by a raquete ball, 2 days before graduation. Yep, an audiologist with one ear! But as the ENT stated, it healed up on its own. Scared me really good though.
Traumatic perforations of the ear drum usually heal on their own. It can take months and I would certain wait close to 6 months before considering surgical repair. As for the vein, it is possible to have clotting of a superficial vein secondary to trauma. It's too difficult to say without seeing you.
