It is as high as the first day. Initially doctor prescribed Azithromycin for 5 days. It didn't help. Then he has changd the prescription to Levaquin 500 for 10 days. It is the 4th day, bu there is no change. Actually the temprature shoots up after taking these medicines( both azi and leva). Please help.. What is it happening with him?

Hello geminigirl,

Thank you for your reply.
After those episodes, a lot has happened.
The doctor didn't ask him to stop the medicine.
He has completed the course as of yesterday.
The situation hasn't improved.
In the mean time, he took blood test and the test showed no issues. Infact his White blood cells count is not elevated which is a bit abnormal when you are sick.
The doctor took a chest X-ray to check for TB. The X-ray was clear.
He has also given a skin test for TB. Today is the day on which we have to report back for the result. So far the bulge has not outgrown, which if does is considered to be an issue of inactive TB. We are really concerned. The fever is still the same, except for it has reduced to 101 deg.

I'm afraid I can't comment on what else may be going on, but the fever AFTER taking the meds could possibly be an allergic reaction to them.  I had this type of reaction to Macrobid (also an antibiotic).

I would definitely put a call into his doctor and not only tell him that he's still feeling sick, but also let them know that his fever goes up following his med dose.

As this is now Friday evening of a long, holiday weekend, you may even want to consider taking him to either the local ER or an urgent care facility rather than wait until Monday - a high fever like that for the length of time tha the's had it is definitely an indication that something is going on.  The ER or urgent care place woudl also be able to tell you if it's possible that the fever after taking the meds is a side effect/reaction to the meds.

Best of luck.
