I woke up to the room spinning in February. I went into the ER and they did a CT on my head and chest X ray. Everything was fine but they said I have vertigo. they gave me motion sickness pills to help with my symptoms.

I have been dealing with vertigo since January.  I too woke up one morning, rolled over in bed to check the alarm clock and yawned.  Suddenly the room starting spinning and would not stop.  I had to keep my head perfectly still and look straight ahead to make it stop. I could not do anything that day other than sit in a chair and look straight ahead.  It got better as the day progressed but I then had another attack the following evening while bending down.  Again, I was as bad off as the first day. In the days ahead I could only sleep on my right side or else the spinning would start again.   As the days have gone by, the symptoms became less severe and if I got dizzy, I found I could stop it by keeping my eyes focused straight ahead, almost like steering myself out of it.

I did seek treatment from a massage therapist trained in cranial sacral treatment.  Whatever she did helped me immensely.  I can now sleep on my left side as well as my right side.  If this therapist had not helped me, I would have gone to a chiropractor as they are able to so some simple head maneuvers that help eliminate the vertigo.  I wish you all the best in your recovery.
