loss of balance

I feel like I am going to fall over.  That's the only symptom I have.  What could this be?  Could it be vertigo?

Yes, sounds like it - see a Dr.  Hopefully it will go away as quickly as it came.  I've had vertigo from food posioning, there are probably many other causes.

Probably a bit of worthless information, or something you already knew.... In the Inner Ear holds the semicircular canals, these Three canals tell your brain what way is up and in what way the head is accelerating,  I.E. the body's Balance organs.  Obviously there is a problem with your semicircular canals.  Many different problems are associated with these and on this site you'll find many people with knowledge of each.  Since you don't have any other symptoms that you are aware of then only a Dr. that plays in the field of balance disorders can help any further, unless someone here has suggestions(?).

I mentioned other symptoms "that you are aware of" because I found a support group for my hearing problems (which this has a direct link to a balance disorder) and they mentioned symptoms that I not only always had but assumed they were part of normal life and that everybody had.
