MRI, Cat scan. digital scans, high resolution scans all the stuff does not guarantee that an infection will be shown up . Many time the infection has to reaches a certain point or it is hidden. My friend was very sick for three years had body scan, MRI you name it she had it She even flew out of the country to find help She came home found a doctor to open her up and look inside, the thought her appendix looked bad.so they removed it , and there was some strange substance all over her organs. it was cancer. and the appendix had cancer in too . The doctor said , to her " Oh you are so lucky to have pushed for that surgery or we would of figured it out in two or three years. when it got really bad" Meaning hey could not detect it early on so when we do you would need tons of chemo . But now you need none and just a surgery . So, one dentist said, he does not trust the scans because he seems so much infection that is not on the scan or x-ray.. So, they are doing the best they can with tools and methods that are not the best
Hi...I have very similar symptoms as you...how are things going? I have seen a dentist and endodontist, who both say they can't see anything in xray, I had a sinus cat scan that was normal that was ordered by my ENT, The endodontist was already to do a root canal..No way! Not until He can tell for sure that I truly need it.
I once had a similar issue. Turned out to be an allergy to the metals used in my crown. I no longer have the crown ( all my teeth were pulled because the dentist didn't bother to tell me that the X-rays showed that my sinuses were constantly plugged) and now my gums just swell up because of ill fitting dentures.
I would suggest having blood work done to rule out any and all infections first. If the tests come back negative, I would ask for allergy testing to rule that out.
All the tests you mentioned above would have shown if it was due to a sinus infection, so you can probably rule that one out.
Good luck to you!
