Swollen Neck and Lymph Nodes

I am 26 years old. For a number of years I had a broken molar (what was left of if was just the whole bottom half but it never gave me any problems) and 2 wisdom teeth that were broken.

I noticed a ball underneath my jaw that was on the same side as the affected teeth. After playing with it, the whole side of my neck became sore, uncomfortable, and throbby. (The lymphs never hurt to the touch, just after probing) I went to an urgent care clinic that gave me about two weeks worth of antibiotics and told me to go to my dentist to get it taken care of. A few days later I had gone to the dentist and had the teeth extracted. After that, I met with a new Doctor who is now my primary who told me the swelling is normal because of the teeth and it should go down in about a month. (That was 3 months ago)

The past two weeks, the swelling and pain in my neck had gone away but the enlarged lymph nodes remained. I went to feel them to see if they had gone down and shrunk, but I seem to have started the whole swelling process all over again.

Is it normal for the lymph nodes to still be swollen and have neck swelling nearly 3 months after having the teeth pulled?
