my 31 month old son

My son was diagnosed at 19 months with a sensorineural hearing loss and we were told that with hearing aids the speech should come and he should function fine.  We have had top of the line aids for ten months and extensive speech therapy.  We are getting very little language.  No one can tell me why.  The therapist and doctors just say they can't explain it.  On top of this, his hearing comes and goes.  there are days he can repeat words with no hearing aids.  There are days he doesn't seem to hear with his hearing aids.  We need help.  Anyone know any great pediatric hearing specialist that are willing to listen to parents?

Again, you should seek care from a regional referral university, meaning some place in a big city that treats many folks with your son's problem.

We have been to many ENT doctors and all I get is "we just don't know".  I want someone who will actually listen to what I have to say and consider that I may actually know what I am saying.  I am not a doctor but you can't diagnose my child effectively if you will not listen to the person that is with him everyday and consider what i have to say.
