Olfactory Halucination

I believe I am suffering from olfactory hallucinations.  In the past, the persistent smells have varied and been short lived.  However, for about two weeks I have endured the same smell almost constantly.  It is making me crazy and I don't know who to talk to about it.  Do I start with my GP or maybe discuss it with the psychologist who is working with me in grief therapy?

Wow, I just had one of these the other night. I woke up with a electrical burning smell or smoke that was so strong I thought my house was on fire. I jumped out of bed and had to check the house. I've had it happen before but it wasn't as strong. And then this week I've had a recurrence of the deja vu episodes I have..hmmmm you've made me think a little more about this.

If an ear cleaning doesn't take care of it, you may want to check with a neurologist.  I have olfactory hallucinations too ... mine are seizure auras and they warn me of an impending seizure.  Mine are always unpleasant smells ... most commonly an electrical burning smell, but occasionally rotting cabbage.  It's really bizarre.  However, the fact that you say you are smelling it "constantly" makes me wonder if it may be something other than a seizure aura.  Because you would definitely know if you were having seizures "constantly."

you're not hallucinating.:)  it's the smell from the build up in your ears.  i used to smell food, dessert and even rotten egg.  after cleaning out my ears w/ Debrox i got rid of the smell.
