Correction to what I said. I am hoping that this problem with the deep breathing is NOT a big problem. Hope to hear from someone soon.
Hi, your problem with deep breathing could be due to the nasal congestion. The constant runny nose, sneezing, and nasal congestion could be due to vasomotor rhinitis, in which the symptoms occur in response to a trigger, like eating spicy food or going outside in the cold. The primary treatment is simply avoiding the things that trigger your symptoms. It is often treated with a drying nasal spray (like Atrovent) and antihistamines like chlopheneramine and lovatidine are effective. Nasal decongestant drops too relieve congestion. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. Regards.
Thank you so much for your response.
I finally went to urgent care and my 02 level was 97. He listened to my heart and lungs (listened to lungs rather extensively by the way) said all sounded fine. Saw that my throat was red (from drip probably) and gave me Augmentin and Prednisone. I have been taking them for 2 days not with not much improvement. FYI -.I have no tonsils but feel sort of a lump in my throat. Still cant breathe very well thru my nose.and periodically take deep breaths. Can these meds help and how long will it take till I notice an improvement? Thanks so mucy in advance for your response.
Hi, hope by now you are feeling better. Your throat must be inflamed, hence your doctor has prescribed a short course of steroids. With this and the antibiotic you must have relief in about 3-4 days. But it also depends on the severity of the infection. The throat inflammation may be causing the sensation in throat, this will also resolve as the infection and inflammation subside. Try warm salt water gargles they may provide relief. And also ensure to continue your medications and follow up with your doctor. Take care.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I really appreciate it.
