First of all I know exactly how you feel. I had all my teeth extracted two years ago and just now am getting use to them. I had sharp bones protruding throughout my bottom gums. I had to keep going to my denturist to have my dentures adjusted which helped a bit. He showed me how to relieve the pain of the bone. These bone pieces are very brittle. If you can tolerate the pain and touch them, try lightly rubbing them and they will disappear. Also rinse your mouth out constantly with salt water. This will clear up any sores and stop bleeding. Another trick I use is a sinus rinse. You can buy the whole kit (bottle and 100 salt packedts) for around 20.00. I hope this helps, It did for me
It was just my regular dentist.
A friend of mine had her's done a few years ago and she can't figure out why I wasn't put to sleep; why the dentist didn't dig out all the bone chips; and why he didn't shave the sharp edges off of my jaw bone either.
Hoping I'll be able to eat sometime within the next few months...this ( IMHO) was a botch job...had the dentures relined, and within an hour they were falling out again...don't think that my gums should have receded ( lost swelling) that much in that short of time.
Can't eat because the dentures rub against the gums, which in turn rub against the sharp bones causing pain and bleeding.
I tried using some claritin spray but it felt like it was going straight into my mouth when I used it in the left nostril...very odd feeling.
I think you may be onto something with the opening made by the root.
Nose still hurts where the eye teeth were taken out.
Tried a few "home remedies" to alleviate the pain...DO NOT try the cinnamon paste on the forehead trick! I applied the paste and it instantly started to burn my skin and left a red rash. I knew cinnamon was "hot", but that was crazy. lol
Am now sipping on lemon green tea, as was told this would work.
Tried steam shower last night and that did nothing.
I can breathe just fine...no blockage as I can tell ( flushing sinuses every 20 minutes and it's clear)...but the pain is unreal.
Am now breaking into a cold sweat.
Hope the doctor can help me...if not I hope I can find a dental surgeon that doesn't charge too much to fix this mess.
Thanks for the comment!
Did an oral surgeon do the extraction, or a general dentist? It sounds like an opening may have been made by a tooth root. General surgeons have more trouble with this than oral surgeons. If the extracting dentist can't help you, see an oral surgeon for advice.
