Stapedectomy Surgery

I had surgery less than a week ago (59 year old woman).  I was told not to blow my nose, but I was not told that I should not sniff either.  I have really bad allergies, so my throat is always full of phlegm where I have to clear my throat to be able to breathe or talk for that matter.  Today I got out of the shower and sneezed and all be darn if I reached for a tissue and did a light blow because I realized, oh wait a minute no, you can't blow your nose.  I am nervous because after I blew my nose I googled what could happen.  I then seen no sniffing for 6 weeks!  Oh great that is all I have been doing so I can breath.  Did I just mess my surgery up?  Thanks ahead of time for your time.
