Tonsillectomy

My 3 year old son had a tonsillectomy 2 weeks ago and his throat is still white - is this normal?
I am a little worried - the whole experience has been horrific.

OtoHNS_MD is right, the areas that are healing have whitish healing tissue up to a month after surgery.  Outside of those areas, you'd worry that those are pus, and not normal healing since it's not in areas cut in surgery.

It is normal for the area where the tonsils used to be to look white for about 2-4 weeks after surgery.  If other areas of the throat are white, I would check with your Otolaryngologist(ENT)
