Hi, and welcome to the community.
Ear infections frequently cause dizziness. The chochlea is a small structure in the ear that consists of three loops - one vertical, one horizontal and one slanted. The motion of fluid through these loops is what enables us to control ballance. An ear infection affects how fluid moves through the loops disrupting our sense of ballance.
Your elevated heart rate could be from any medication you may be taking, especially a decongestant. If you have high blood presure, do not take a decongestant. Check other medications for side effects. You should also discus this with your pharmacist if they are open tomorrow. Hopefully, it will be a medication.
Your dizziness may also be caused by the elevataed heart rate. If you cannot find a medication that is causing the elevated heart rate, you need to go to an urgent care (or ER) to have that checked out. Most likely it is nothing, but where the heart is concerned, err on the side of caution.
Take care and feel better.
God bless.
Dear Mercedes,
Yes, an inner ear infection does cause dizziness. The center of balance for us is located in our inner ears. So when we get fluid or an infection in them, dizziness can occur. Sinus infections don't usually cause dizziness, but it depends also which sinuses are infected. I hope you are being treated for these infections. If so, be sure to take all of your medication, if not, the infections will come back and be much worse when they do.
Hope this helps.
